685 horsepower and a 200 mile range for something intended for heavy off-road use is pretty ridiculous IMO. You need torque, yes, and electric motors are really perfect for that. But that is an alarmingly low range (and being an electric, we all know that range is very optimistic). Could you imagine going into the wilderness only to run out of juice?
If I’m dropping six figures on a vehicle like that intended for heavy off-roading use, it had better damn well be perfect for that use case. A diesel hybrid of some variety would make more sense here (quite frankly I think there need to be more diesel hybrids).
